Philoptochos: The Women of Our Parish

Plans are well underway for our Starry Night Fundraiser on September 21st, in Mobile, AL at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church 50 S. Ann St.

Many thanks to those communities who have helped to identify and provide sponsorships.

Individual tickets for the event are on sale now for $65 and there is a limit of 200 tickets for the event so please let your communities know that.

The link will also allow you to give a donation if you have people who would like to support the DRC but can not attend on September 21st.

There will be a reception hour at 6 with dinner served at 7 and a short presentation with dancing to follow until 11:00pm. Music will be provided by Nick Demos and the Islanders.

Mission Statement

The Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society, Inc., is the duly accredited women's philanthropic society of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. The mission of the Society is as follows:

to help the poor, the destitute, the hungry, the aged, the sick, the unemployed, the orphaned, the imprisoned, the widowed, the handicapped, the victims of disaster, to undertake the burial of impoverished persons and to offer assistance to anyone who may need the help of the Church through fund raising efforts
to promote the charitable, benevolent, and the philanthropic purposes of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America through instructional programs, presentations, lectures, seminars, and other educational resources
to preserve and perpetuate Orthodox Christian concepts and the Orthodox Christian Family, and through them, to promote the Greek Orthodox Faith and traditions, in accordance with its doctrines, canons, discipline, divine worship, usages, and customs
to promote participation in the activities of the Greek Orthodox community, with the cooperation of the Parish Priest and the Parish Council

The charitable work of the Society is to be performed with discretion, courtesy, and kindness.
